Wadokai Technical Seminar with Shimura sensei

We are honored to host a Wadōkai Technical Seminar with Shimura sensei in Mariehamn on May 15-17th 2026. The seminar is also approved as an A-class workshop for Qualification Certification renewal. JKF Wadōkai dan examinations up to 5th dan are also held at the seminar.

How to travel to Mariehamn

Mariehamn is a city on Åland Islands, an autonomous region of Finland. The islands are located between Finland and Sweden, and you can reach Mariehamn from either country.

From Sweden:
Book a flight to Stockholm Arlanda International airport and take a ferry (Viking Line or Tallink Silja Line) to Mariehamn.

Another option is to take a connecting flight from Arlanda to Mariehamn.

From Finland:
Book a flight to Helsinki-Vantaa International airport and take a ferry (Viking Line or Tallink Silja Line) from Turku or Helsinki.

Another option is to take a connecting flight from Helsinki-Vantaa to Mariehamn.

Registration fees to be paid upon passing the examination:
1st dan: 70 € (includes Wadōkai membership fee)
2nd dan: 60 €
3rd dan: 65 €
4th dan: 90 €
5th dan: 150 €
